THE RACE TO ZER0% LANDFILL
ACM have been forefront of recycling-lead waste management for many years and, with its continued innovation and environmentally focused development, are in pole position to win the race to zero landfill.
The latest data taken from our online reporting system – ESP – show that ACM are currently achieving an incredible landfill diversion rate of 89% for its combined client base!
As always, ACM’s focus remains firmly on achieving the greenest possible outcome for its clients, and these extraordinary levels of landfill diversion have been achieved by basing its disposal methods on the Waste Hierarchy. The most environmentally friendly possible method of disposal on the hierarchy is Reuse, and in the last two years alone ACM has helped its clients to dramatically improve their Reuse rates from just 6% to 16%.
All this is great news for our clients and, of course, the environment. With the urgent need to combat climate change, businesses that wait for legislation to force them to change and fail to demonstrate robust environmental credentials, are in danger of being eclipsed by their competitors.
Those companies that ‘think green’ stand to gain in terms of reputation and customer relationships, as well as financially. Many businesses do not realise that the real cost of waste is often more than five times the cost of disposal when materials, treatment costs, energy and wasted labour are taken into account.
